Freak Establishment is back, and this time, they’re rewinding reality itself! In their latest mind-bender, Retroflections, Michael & Squiddy take you on a neon-lit voyage into a distorted 1980s landscape, where dreams collide with nightmares and nostalgia twists into something… darker. The year is 3023, and the world has changed, but some things never fade. Retroflections isn’t just another album—it’s a portal. The duo, along with the cryptic guidance of the mysterious The Faceless Character, have fused their synth-driven, guitar-laced anthems with strange and unsettling visuals, dragging you through a fever dream of forgotten VHS tapes, old-school horror flicks, and the fractured pieces of a lost era.

Freak Establishment’s second album Fata Morgana is steeped in the surreal and experimental, both in its creation and its thematic essence. The tagline “Whose Memories are These?” hints at a deeper, unsettling exploration of identity and perception, one that straddles the boundaries of reality and fiction. The band, in its pursuit of blending chaotic, far-reaching sounds, confronts the idea of memory distortion, or even the possibility of memories that don’t belong to them, seeping into their consciousness. This tension is reflected in the music itself—unpredictable, fragmented, and pushing the limits of what Michael & Squiddy had previously explored.
